And the truth is you can't eat bland food and grapefruit juice for the rest of your life.
It's all in the genes
Scientific discoveries stress out the importance of the human genes in weight loss. Our bodies make us different and it depends on the body how fast and how much weight it is willing to dispose. Genetically it has been observed that 80% of the children who have both parents obese are going to be obese as well and only 15% of the children born from slim parents turn obese.
And while genes play a very important role in weight loss, accumulation and distribution, your life style has an important thing to say in this matter. It doesn't really matter how fat or skinny your parents are if you're drinking gallons of soda and eating the greasiest food possible.
Dieting shouldn't be regarded as a pain-in-the-ass-period-when-I-eat-crappy-food. First of all no one says you have to eat bad tasting food - just eat moderately, diverse, healthy and make a life style out of it. Be aware when and how to cut out sugar and fat and how to avoid food rich in sugar and fat. Do not eliminate them completely, though. They play an important part in your health, but - as in any other case - excessive consumption can damage.
