A recent study showed that people who eat an apple before lunch will eat less during lunch and loose weight. Therefore, an apple a day will keep anyone away if you throw it hard enough... Seriously though, it'll keep the doctor away and the weight as well. The great thing about fruits and what makes it so special in diets is that they are rich in fibres, but low on calories, therefore you can stuff yourself with apples and any other fruit and see how the scale will start showing less.
This is one proven method to lose weight, but the same goes for any other fruit or vegetable and it might be "A mellon a day keeps the weight well away", or "...the doctor away", which ever you like better. The bottom line is that snacking on apples and other veggies helps a lot in the process of losing weight.
Try to be honest with yourselves
Many people will get bored with dieting, tired or will just fool themselves about their dieting results and performances. Many go for the counting calories diet of maximum 1200 or even 1000 calories a day, but they'll cheat and fool themselves or not pay attention to the total calories intake. The final result at the end of the day will not be the real one and results will not appear soon or ever.
Slow metabolism
One frequent excuse to fool oneself is to think: "It's my metabolism..." It might be, but if you don't shed a pound after one month, you might want to ask for a professional's help because it seems you can not be true to yourself or you don't know what you are doing. Either way, you should go pay a visit to a professional and ask for help there. |

Burning calories more efficiently
The way our bodies burn the calories as fuel does not differ that much as compared to others. Burning calories through exercise is a good way to lose weight and the only difference is muscle mass, the engines that require fuel (calories), therefore the more muscles, the more calories burned.
I do not exceed 1200 calories a day
Yes, you do. Studies showed that people who complained about having trouble losing weight |
are mostly cheaters and will report an average of only 53% of their food intake. Isn't this ridiculous?
I exercise every day
Yes, you might, but if you set your goals to 30 minutes exercising a day, but you get there 5 minutes late and make up an excuse to leave 10 minutes early, you're not doing the best you can to follow your program, thus not losing weight as predicted if losing at all. Studies show that these cheaters will report an average of 75% more exercising activity than they actually do.
Stop fooling yourself, be honest and you'll see that results will start showing up. |
